Live Well Nebraska, a publication out of Omaha, recently published an article that featured the weight loss insight and knowledge of personal trainer Brittany Baldwin. In the article, Baldwin sets out to dispel notions and debunk myths commonly associated with efforts to lose weight. We’ve summarized the 6 myths in the bullet points below.   • Myth #1 – Eating at night makes you fat. Baldwin states that it is the substance and amount you are consuming that is more of a factor than time of consumption.
  • Myth #2 – Protein supplements are necessary to get ripped. Intentional programming and proper nutrition will go much further than protein supplements.
  • Myth #3 – Crunches are the key to flat abs. Though crunches are helpful, targeted cardio and a diet with lean protein and complex carbohydrates will also prove helpful.
  • Myth #4 – More gym time equals more results – Your habits at the gym should reflect your weight loss goals. Excessive workouts can sometimes be harmful, especially if viewed as compensation for a poor diet.
  • Myth #5 – Fats make you fat. A good, balanced diet will include eating fats. Healthier fats should be part of a balanced diet and have been shown helpful in the fight against heart disease.
  • Myth #6 – You can target your weight loss. Weight loss should be a comprehensive approach that takes into consideration the health of the person and the overall state of the body.
